With the rapid advancement of modern technology and the significant expansion of infrastructure and the electrical power industry in China, the emerging energy storage industry is experiencing high-speed growth. The construction of high-energy-consuming infrastructure like 5G is further driving the demand for electricity, and renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power are becoming major players in the power system.Since 2010, China's installed capacity of new energy has been continuously increasing, reaching 63,741MW in 2021, with a CAGR of 32.1% from 2010 to 2021. The proportion of new energy installed capacity in the total national installed capacity has steadily risen, reaching 26.7% in 2021. The "2021 China New Energy Power Generation Analysis Report" predicts that this proportion will reach 41% by 2030.

The "14th Five-Year Plan for the Modern Energy System" (Development and Reform Energy [2022] No. 210) issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration sets a target for China to achieve a non-fossil energy electricity generation share of 39% by 2025.

The increasing share of new energy sources and the continuous reduction in lithium battery costs are driving the continued expansion of electrochemical energy storage applications. According to Wood Mackenzie's prediction, the installed capacity of electrochemical energy storage will continue to grow at a high rate over the next 10 years, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 31%.China, as a major player in electrochemical energy storage and a pioneer in the energy revolution, is expected to see significant growth in its cumulative installed capacity of electrochemical energy storage in the next 5 years. The conservative compound annual growth rate (CAGR) is projected to be 57.4%, while under ideal conditions, it could reach 70.5%, indicating the potential for extremely rapid growth in this sector.

While the energy storage industry is experiencing rapid growth, sheet metal processing plays a crucial role. The majority of domestic energy storage manufacturers rely primarily on standalone or unit automation for sheet metal processing. Additionally, they often purchase equipment from various brands, sometimes involving more than ten different brands. This diversity in equipment brands can lead to significant challenges for equipment users in terms of future upgrades, maintenance, and integration with information data collection.

Solution or Resolution.

For a new factory planning project in the energy storage sector, the customer sought a single company to provide a comprehensive solution, including cutting, shaping, welding, and polishing processes. After multiple discussions and exchanges with the customer, combined with our extensive industry experience, we tailored the optimal solution based on the customer's drawings and process requirements, taking into account the various processing techniques involved in product manufacturing

1. Based on the customer's factory layout, we planned and designed the logistics flow and specific equipment placement to create an efficient and intelligent factory.

2. We use laser tube cutting machines in conjunction with loading and unloading devices to automatically process structural profiles and frame components.

3. We employ a single-row warehouse combined with a punch-and-shear stacking system and an automated laser cutting line to perform cutting and stacking processes for thick plates, irregularly-shaped plates, and more.

 

4. We utilize a combination of robot bending units and CNC bending machines to achieve bending processes for workpieces.

5. We employ welding robots connected in a network to automate the welding process for the main welding components.

6. We utilize the Yawei Smart Maintenance Cloud software to collect data from all equipment, providing real-time display of equipment operational status on electronic dashboards, allowing customers to stay informed about equipment conditions at all times.

Customer Benefits

In this new energy project, Yawei helped the customer plan and implement the design and establishment of a sheet metal intelligent factory. This addressed the biggest challenge faced by customers who had no prior experience in sheet metal production when purchasing equipment.

Leveraging Yawei's comprehensive range of sheet metal equipment, customers can source equipment for cutting, pipe cutting, bending, welding, logistics, and informatization from a single supplier. This provides great convenience for customers in terms of equipment procurement, future upgrades, and routine maintenance.
  3. Yawei's automation department designed detailed layouts for the customer's factory, logistics flow, and warehousing based on the features of Yawei's sheet metal equipment. This scientific and detailed planning took into account future usage scenarios and upgrades for the sheet metal factory, offering a comprehensive solution that significantly reduced the complexity of factory planning for the customer.
  4. By using advanced sheet metal warehousing systems, material handling devices, and robots, Yawei helped the customer improve automation levels from the start of sheet metal production, reducing reliance on operators. This not only decreased production waiting times but also greatly increased equipment capacity.
